Things to do in Guanajuato
Guanajuato is located 370 kilometers from Mexico City; it is worth mentioning that it has been declared a World Cultural Heritage Site. With only 150 MXN you can do the tour and the entrance to the museums is free.
In addition, the capital has public squares, galleries, schools and alleys where you can walk around while you see these tourist attractions at no cost.
As for its gastronomy, enjoy it and let yourself be carried away by its dishes in restaurants and one or another outdoor meal.
Mineral de Pozos
Today, this town has hotels, spa, restaurant and art galleries. In ancient times this well was named that way because of its mining activities; however, today it is still a beautiful place supported by a town and is perfect if you need things to do in Guanajuato.
If you would like to stay a few nights in this place, your lodging will be in a boutique hotel and the rate is 1,200 MXN per night.
At the top of this hill you will find a large statue of Christ created by Mexican sculptor Fidias Elizondo, this monument weighs 80 tons and measures 20 meters; it holds the record of being the largest in the world made of bronze.
It is located in the municipality of Silao where it will take you approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes to get there; admiring this incredible statue would be one of your things to do in Guanajuato and it only costs 180 MXN per tour.
Museum of Art and History
Need something to do in Leon Guanajuato? Your best option would be to visit this place where they exhibit great collections of art and culture for all its tourists; it is good to note that for a better appreciation it is organized in 3 levels.
Located near the center of the city of Leon a little to the east, with an approximate cost to enter at 400 MXN and for students or teachers at 300 MXN.
Cañada de la Virgen Archaeological Zone
A place where they offer you an incredible tour, you will be surprised by the knowledge that this culture had about astronomy. It is believed that they performed rituals for the agricultural, harvesting and hunting cycles.
It is located 16 kilometers from San Miguel de Allende and the cost to enter and admire its incredible culture is only 39 MXN. A great activity and quite economical in Guanajuato.
Atotonilco a Sanctuary
A majestic sanctuary also declared cultural patrimony by UNESCO. Also, a beautiful building of the baroque architecture and art of the new Spain, in its interior it has oil paintings and ornate chapels.
If you want to go, it is 14 kilometers from San Miguel de Allende, it is a town of five blocks and its tour has a value of 650 MXN.
This site has several tourist attractions such as the Casa del Diezmo and the Museo Casa de Hidalgo; they are not only architectural works, they also leave you with a positive feeling for its magical town and its great ceramic work.
It is said that one of its museums has a weapon that is more than 200 years old and comes from the war of independence. If you decide to visit this magical town, you will have something to do in Guanajuato and be able to tell this fascinating experience full of history.

San Miguel de Allende

This city has artistic centers such as the Centro Cultural El Nigromante and the Fabrica La Aurora.

Guanajuato Water Park
What to do in Guanajuato with kids? If you bring your family to Guanajuato, don’t let the little ones miss this water park; it offers a great variety of attractions for your kids to enjoy and have a great time.
Children will be able to watch sea lions and dolphins; besides, this park has stores and restaurants in case you feel like having something to eat with your family. The entrance fee is 110 MXN, but if the child is less than 90 cm tall he/she gets in for free.
This activity allows you to enjoy with your family the beautiful views of the city in a hot air balloon, where you will take a fantastic ride awakening the adventurous sense of your children. And you will not be afraid, because the balloon goes up and down slowly, so you will not feel the ascents and descents.
The beginning of the ride is located in the parish of San Miguel Arcangel and to go up in the balloon you must pay 1,800 MXN. It is good to mention that the flight is shared and you will be given breakfast plus flight insurance; the ride lasts 1 hour and starts at 6:00 am.
