Cancun Hotel Zone
The city of Cancun is divided into two main zones, downtown Cancun and Cancun Hotel Zone. Particularly the downtown area is made up of people’s houses, restaurants, shops, plazas, parks, fairs, and really everything you can imagine in a city.
However, despite the fact that the downtown area has several places that may be of interest to thousands of visitors, the real highlight of Cancun is the Hotel Zone. Where does the hotel zone begin?
Particularly the hotel zone begins between the interception of Bonampak Avenue, with Andres Quintana Roo Avenue, giving beginning to the so-called Kilometer zero of the hotel zone of Cancun.
Where does the Hotel Zone end?
The avenue that runs through the entire hotel zone is known as Kukulcan Boulevard. This avenue runs for more than 20 kilometers until it reaches the Nizuk Canal Bridge. Well, this bridge is the one that marks the end of Bulevar Kukulcan Avenue.
However, this does not mean that it ends here, because the next avenue known as Nizuk Avenue runs for about 8 kilometers until it reaches the federal highway Chetumal – Cancun.

From kilometer 0 to 5.
From these few kilometers you won’t really find many things to do, because all the fun is centered mainly in kilometer 10 to 18. However here you can find the Plaza Puerto Cancun, Playa Las Perlas which is a family beach and Captain Hook’s tour, which is a night tour.
Of course the show is at kilometer 4.5 where you can see the Calinda Bridge and where the Caribbean Sea meets the Nichupté Lagoon.
From kilometer 5 to kilometer 9
In this small part of the hotel zone, you will find several beaches perfect for the whole family, although the main and most popular are Playa Gaviotas and Playa Tortugas, you have to give yourself the opportunity to visit Playa Punta Cancun.
In addition, you will find restaurants and some marinas with different activities such as snorkeling, diving, water parks and scooter rentals.
From kilometer 9 to kilometer 18
From kilometer 9 to kilometer 18 we will have the highlight of the hotel zone, where the nightclubs, restaurants, beaches and main tourist activities can be seen and felt. It should be noted that you have to know the 3 archaeological sites of Cancun located between these kilometers.
You can also take souvenir pictures at the famous photo stop at the Cancun lookout point and enjoy a delicious dinner at one of the prestigious restaurants like Lorencillo and of course a day at the Spa.
Beyond km 18
Beyond km 18 you will only find some secluded hotels, Punta Nizuc beach and Ventura Park, in short this is where the fun ends.
