laguna Kaan Luum
Visiting the Kaan Luum lagoon is one of the best things you can do in Tulum and with your family, enjoying its crystal clear turquoise waters is priceless, it is a paradise that not everyone knows its existence since it is surrounded by the tropical jungle of Tulum, it is also recognized as a world heritage site.
It is a place where simplicity reigns and takes you out of the routine, it only has a wooden platform, since on the shore there are no beaches or sandy areas or grass, it has public restroom, dining area, we recommend bringing your food and personal items that you consider necessary.
In the center of the lagoon is a cenote of 25 meters in diameter by 85 meters deep, it is not allowed to swim to the center, unless you have enough experience in diving, otherwise, it has a fence that warns which is the limit where you can be.
Visiting this unique lagoon is to relax under the sun while swimming surrounded by a quiet, natural and unspoiled environment because there is not much tourist activity, we recommend you to go on weekdays, bring a biodegradable sunscreen and help keep the surroundings clean by keeping your garbage.

How to get to Kaan Luum Lagoon
It is located about 15 minutes south of Tulum, inside the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, you can get there by car or bus, you will find signs on Highway 307, but if you travel from Playa del Carmen it will take you more than an hour to get there, as the lagoon is located between the rainforest of Tulum.
After paying the entrance fee, you will only have to drive a short distance to the lagoon where you can park your vehicle. If you go by public transportation, you should keep in mind that it will take you a little longer to get there, as they are not as easy to take, plus, they will only leave you about 10 minutes from the entrance to the lagoon.
How much does it cost to enter Laguna Kaan Luum?
The ticket costs about $300 Mexican pesos per person that you must pay in cash, it is best to go on weekdays in the morning if you want to enjoy the lagoon just for yourself, since on weekends and holidays the place is more crowded.
